LUYOR-3419 PMA LED Photolysis Device is designed for controlled photoactivation of PMA, PMAxx™, EMA, and similar dyes. LUYOR-3419 provides simultaneous illumination for up to 24 samples at a time. Equipped with multiple LEDs, it provides even and maximal illumination from both sides and bottom to all vials.

PMA is cell membrane-impermeable. It therefore can be used to selectively modify exposed DNA from dead cells with compromised membrane integrity, while leaving DNA from viable cells intact. This feature makes the dye useful for the detection of viable pathogenic cells in the presence of dead cells by quantitative PCR.
